This is a beautiful c 1956 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified Bubbleback watch with the original ivory colored dial and the original Rolex stainless steel Oyster bracelet. The stainless steel case and engine turned bezel are both in very good condition - neither showing any signs of being over polished. The Rolex cal 1030 automatic movement is running strong & keeping accurate time. The dial bears the raised Rolex crown at the 12:00 position and identifies the watch as "ROLEX | OYSTER PERPETUAL | SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER | OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED". The reference number between the top lugs and on the inside of the case back is "6565". The serial number between the bottom lugs is "262237". The crown is signed with the Rolex crown logo. There are no markings on the back side of the case.The inside of the case back reads: "MONTRES ROLEX | GENEVA SWITZERLAND | PATENTED | STAINLESS STEEL | 6564 (crossed out) | III 56 | 6565". The movement is marked: "ROLEX PERPETUAL | PATENTED | TWENTY FIVE 25 JEWELS | ADJUSTED FIVE 5 POSITIONS AND TEMPERATURE | MONTRES ROLEX S.A. | GENEVA SWISS" The Rolex movement caliber is identified as "1030" and the movement serial number is identified as "D667911". The watch comes with the original Rolex Stainless Steel Oyster band. This is a great example of the mid 50's Rolex bubble back.
